Bike to Wherever Days May 2025

During the month of May, we encourage you to get out and pedal no matter where you need to go: ride to errands; ride to visit friends and family; ride for recreation; ride for your health; and ride for your commute. Ride WHEREVER you need to go!

Solano County, as part of the Nine-County Bay Area Bike To Wherever Days, has a full month of activities including: Bike to School Day on May 7th, Bike Events, a Pledge to Ride, and more. And be sure to come out for Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 15th! Everyone on two wheels is welcome!

Bike Champion of the Year

Nominations for 2025 Bike Champions are now open until March 31st!

Do you know an exceptional bicycle rider, policymaker, educator, or advocate making a difference in your county?

Nominate them today at bayareabiketowork.com! We count on YOU to spotlight the people transforming the Bay Area into a better place to live and bike. Winners will receive prizes and be recognized across the Bay Area!

Bike Month Pledge to Ride

Pledge to Ride your bike during May by signing up here, and you’ll be entered to win prizes. Earn a bonus contest entry if you regularly commute to work by transit (bus/rail/ferry), rideshare (vanpool/carpool), active transportation (walk/ride your bike) or telework, and enroll in our ongoing Commute Challenge here: commuterinfo.net.

Bay Area Bike Challenge

Welcome to this year’s Bay Area Bike Challenge! Last May the Bay Area more than tripled the 30,000 mile goal, so this year it is being quadrupled to reach 120,000 miles.

Every ride you log during Bay Area Bike to Wherever Days from May 1-31 counts, and all of the trips you track via the Ride with GPS app make you eligible for cash prizes.

Sign up today, then ride in May!

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) proudly presents this challenge to strengthen community bonds and promote unity across the region. Whether you’re commuting, running errands, or enjoying a leisurely ride, every mile counts toward our goal.

Bike to Work Day

On Thursday, May 15th, the Bay Area will celebrate Bike to Work Day! Volunteers will pass out free, commemorative bike bags in the early morning commute hours at various Solano County energizer stations to bike commuters. Bike commuters can visit to pick up their bike bag with goodies (while supplies last).

Stop by our energizer stations to learn more about Bucks for Bikes and our other commuter incentive programs: Solano Mobility | Commuter Programs.

(Note: National Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 16th, but the Bay Area celebrates on Thursday when more people in our nine counties commute to work.)

The Solano Safe Routes to School program sponsored the first event in 2013, and participation continues to grow. This year, Bike to School Day will be held on May 7th, 2025.
