Solano Transportation Authority (STA) will pay a portion of your Lyft rides throughout the city of Benicia, and to Springstowne Center in Vallejo. These rides are valid only to specific destinations and between the hours of 6am-9pm for Benicia residents. To qualify you must be an older adult (65+), a veteran, or ADA eligible. If your pickup or drop-off is outside the specified areas, the discount is not valid.

 

1. For Lyft/Uber programs, Solano Mobility will provide Lyft/Uber with participant’s name, phone number and/or email address. In addition, Solano Mobility will receive information related to rides such as name of Rider, time of ride, and ride cost. If you accept a Lyft/Uber Concierge Ride, you consent to Lyft/Uber’s Terms of Service, which are available at https://www.lyft.com/terms and https://www.uber.com/legal/terms.

2. In applying for or using Solano Mobility’s Lyft/Uber programs you provide consent to Solano Mobility to provide Lyft/Uber with your name, phone number and email address. You provide all rights, permissions, and consent for Solano Mobility and Lyft/Uber to use an automatic telephone dialing system to call, text or otherwise contact the recipient associated with the phone number you provided including via SMS message or voice call, in relation to a Ride requested for or taken by a Rider, and/or Solano Mobility’s use of the Lyft/Uber Services. You consent to enabling Lyft/Uber to email you or other individuals associated with the number provided solely in conjunction with providing the Lyft/Uber services.

3. By submitting this application, you provide these rights, permissions and consents.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up for the program?

To sign up for the program, you will need to first contact Solano Mobility at 800-535-6883. The call center staff will ask you to submit one of three documents:

  • Veterans (Military I.D. or Veterans I.D.)
  • Disabled (ADA card, RTC Card, Medicare card, DMV placard)
  • Proof of age 65 or older with Photo ID

Please download the Lyft app to your smartphone after you have submitted your application. Once staff has received the supporting information, discount will be applied on your smartphone within 24-48 hours.

 

If you’d like the option to also use the Uber app, please inform Solano Mobility when you sign up for the program.

 

How much does it cost?

$4 per trip for qualified individuals (for rides up to $20)

$3 per trip for low-income qualified (for rides up to $20)

What if I am in a wheel chair, can I still participate in the program?

Yes. Please make sure to let the call center staff know that you are in a wheel chair prior to signing up, so they can provide you with the correct information.

What if I don't have a smart phone?

If you don’t have a smart phone you can still use the program. Let call center staff know when you are signing up so they can give you the correct information.

Lyft requires a debit/ credit card to be on file. What if I don't have one?

If you do not have a debit or credit card, you will need to purchase a prepaid debit card available at many retail stores.
