The Solano Transportation Authority was very excited to be awarded this recent grant from the Office of Traffic Safety. Walking and biking are important for our seniors for so many reasons. Both contribute to successful aging by providing the health benefits of physical activity, opportunities to socialize, and are low-cost forms of transportation. This funding supports our continuing efforts to promote mobility, health, and safety for our Older Adult Community.
The STA manages multiple programs for the benefit of Solano County’s Older Adult population to help them maintain independence through mobility. Each of these programs were developed after extensive public outreach, multiple plans and studies, and collaboration with various community stakeholders over the last decade. They continue to evolve whenever further needs are identified. Click the link above to view our most recent Solano Mobility Study for Older Adults.
